Family, and business can absolutely go together and we love being able to empower business owners to do it well.
We love working with family businesses, and I can’t think of a more family oriented business than The Brick Co. and The Brickies Wife Studio, run by Pete and Coco Matolic.
This iconic team manage a business that was initially started by Pete’s parents over 45 years ago and they pride themselves on delivering a great product with even better service. It is physically demanding work, and they work hard at it with incredible attention to detail.
Coco also has her own photography business, on top of the mum life and everything else she juggles. Coco is a boss at elevating business photography and capturing your family’s season of life in a candid and real way (she also makes us want to buy everything she wears, but that’s just an aside).
Clarity, tax planning and perhaps most importantly, some mental real estate.
What they really wanted when they came to us was some clarity around what was happening in the back end of their business, and a goal to work towards so they could measure their success and quick wins. Pete & Coco wanted a good understanding of their numbers so they could feel comfortable with how their businesses were performing.
We sat down with Pete and walked him through their current financial situation. Walking through where they were, and where they were headed, we outlined exactly what we were going to do in order to help them move forward. Some plain language chat, and breaking things down into bite sized pieces was all key to making some small achievable changes to help relieve some stress and frustration for these business owners.
Good communication is critical, and Coco & Pete get it. They want clarity, some planning for their tax obligations and perhaps most importantly, some mental real estate left at the end of the day to be present with their boys, Wolfe & Banks.
Making life easier for Pete & Coco was the number one goal for this relationship.
We were stoked to hear that they were feeling confident with their progress, right as their eldest child was starting kindergarten.
Knowing that the Matolic family can enjoy some peace of mind in their adventures together, we love knowing that they can concentrate on what’s important to them - getting on with their businesses and being with their kids.
Family, and business can absolutely go together and we love being able to empower business owners to do it well.
